F1 Season

MRV Motorsport will provide an F1 season. We call this "The League". Once you are in the league, you will be invited for the league events. You can register for the upcoming race there and practise at "Free practise" to prepare your setup.

F1 league settings:

  • We will be racing with the RSS Formula Hybrid 2024.
  • No assists are allowed.
  • The race length is 50% of a real F1 race.
  • A pitstop is mandatory. Unfortunately this setting does not work in WSS server settings, only on timed based races, but we use laps...
  • Driving on at least 2 different compounds is mandatory, (not mandatory in a wet race).
  • Refueling is not allowed during the race.
  • Teleporting during the race is not allowed. Only when you have a broken car, you can teleport back to pits. The race is over at that point. Always try to drive the car back to pits and retire from there. For now, we accept teleporting to pits in the quali. Teleporting in practise is always allowed, just put your car to the side when you do, to prevent bothering other drivers.
  • Rejoining is not allowed, it's a way of teleporting.
  • Abusing track limits is not allowed and will result in a penalty, (after 3 warnings of course). Some tracks are not totally lined up correctly with "real penalty". In general: We use the "Real Penalty" standards, but crossing the white lines with 3 tires is the basic rule. When "Real Penalty" accepts more than that white line and you cross it, you risk being penalised by the stewards manually. We will take into account if there was any time gained, or not. If there was NO time, a position, or any other advantage by going outside of track, it will usually be forgiven as long you are not cutting on a regular base. However, gaining time, a position, or any other advantage by going outside of track will always result in a penalty. (unless the position was given back).
  • After the race, everybody needs to do an inlap and return to the pits manually! Teleporting is not allowed during the race, so also not when you want to return to the pit after the race. Podium finishers have to line up at the straight. Number 1 in the middle. Number 2 at his right side and number 3 at his laft side. (Seen from the drivers perspective). This to make a beautiful picture after the race. (Watch your fuel!).
  • When you have a major crash on track, don't teleport to pit just yet, but leave your car where it ends up, until the SC comes out. It's realistic for the drivers to be able to see the crashed car when following the SC, so please wait to remove your car from track until the message: "Safety Car is OUT!!/Drivers: UNLAP now!!" appears. NOTE!! If your car is still able to drive, drive to a safe spot and retire there. The SC doesn't have to come on track in this case. I am trusting our drivers to do the right thing and work together to make it as realistic as it can be. Please don't abuse the option of getting the SC on track on purpose.

Safety Car system:

  • When the message: "Safety Car is OUT!!" appears. The SC will come on track and will wait for the #1. If you are NOT #1 and you see the SC waiting, you can overtake the SC and join the pack next lap. NOTE!! Keep good track if the drivers ahead of you are pitting. You can suddently be #1 by surprise. When following the SC, drivers must stay within 10 carlength of the car in front.
  • Every driver needs to be more carefull when the SC is out, but there will be NO speed limit until you rejoin with the other drivers behind the SC. Just be careful where "Real Penalty" shows the Yellow flags!
  • When the message: "Safety Car is OUT!!/Drivers: UNLAP now!!" appears. Lapped drivers can carefully overtake all the cars and the SC and can try to come back at the pack next lap. NOTE!! This message is also a signal to the other drivers. Look into your mirrors and stop weaving! So the lapped cars can pass safely. When lapped cars can unlap themselves, the SC will soon return to pit. NOTE!! The SC will give the unlapping drivers some time to create some distance, but the SC will NOT wait until lapped cars rejoined the pack. This is simply taking too much time. It's only a 50% race.
  • When the message: "Safety Car IN this lap!!" appears. The SC will return back to pit that lap. The #1 can decide the pace from the moment this message appears. He can also choose when he pushes the throttle. However, there are 2 things #1 needs to take into account. 1) The SC has to be in the pit in order for the #1 to be allowed to overtake the SC. 2) Once #1 pushed the throttle, he can not brake anymore and do it again. This causes carnage. NOTE!! Drivers must stay within 5 carlength of the car in front, from the moment the "Safety Car IN this lap!!" message appears.
  • Time penalties cannot be served during the SC period.

Points system:

  1. 25 points
  2. 18 points
  3. 15 points
  4. 12 points
  5. 10 points
  6.   8 points
  7.   6 points
  8.   4 points
  9.   2 points
  10.   1 point

There will not be an extra point for the fastest lap, as the real life F1 FIA just decided they won't do that anymore next season.

Penalty system:

  •   3 sec. penalty.
  •   5 sec. penalty. (Avoidable contact without spinning the other car / Forcing another driver outside of track).
  • 10 sec. penalty. (Avoidable contact, causing an accident).
  • 30 sec. penalty.
  • 60 sec. penalty.
  • Disqualification. (No pitstop taken / only on 1 compound during the race / rejoining after teleporting).
  • Quali ban.
  • Race ban.

Stewards can apply 1 of these penalties after a report, or because the stewards notice something themselves in a race, or a replay. Which penalty they choose depends on how bad the mistake was.

License point system:

To preserve our high racing standards on track, every driver needs to earn a MRV F1 License before they can participate in the league. This licence is not only needed to race in the league. There can also be added penalty points to this license.

  • 3 penalty points will result in a qualiban.
  • 4 penalty points will result in a qualiban.
  • 5 penalty   points will result in a raceban.
  • 6 penalty points will result in a ban for the rest of the season.
  • 7 penalty points will result in losing your license. (You can reclaim it after a proper test session on track).

Of course we have some guidelines on how we work within this system:

  • Intentionally cutting corners on a regular base in an excessive way: 1 Penalty point will be added to your license.
  • Causing 3, or 4 incidents in a single race: 1 Penalty point will be added to your license.
  • Causing 5, or 6 incidents in a single race: 2 Penalty points will be added to your license.
  • Continuing after teleporting, or rejoining: 3 Penalty points will be added to your license.
  • Causing 7 or more incidents in a single race: 4 Penalty points will be added to your license.
  • Intentionally hitting other drivers, or any other unaccepted behavior on track: 4 - 7 Penalty points, regarding on the incident, will be added to your license.

Everybody starts fresh at the start of a new season!

Penalty points can be found at the "drivers information" channel on our discord.

Last but not least:

This system is here to point out "on track behavior" that needs to be upgraded. It's just a signal that there is a topic for the involved driver to evolve on. There is always an explaination of the penalies which can be found at the race results at WSS. Just click the yellow flags to see all penalties. Malone and others are always willing to help you understand what went wrong, or what's needed to improve. Just reach out if you have questions, or need anything in general!

In 99% of the situations, there were no bad intentions in any way, so nobody is angry, or disappointed, but I need to protect our clean drivers and sending messages to drivers who should do better overall. We don't want to ruïn motivation of any of our drivers. I hope you all can be openminded!  It's only positive critisism to improve the Racecraft and Side by side racing within MRV Motorsport!! The system should be Logic, Transparant and above all Fair for all of us!

Teams:

When you want to have your own team, you can do this in WSS. We actually promote this! Just remember: There can only be 2 teammembers driving in a race at the same time. Of course the team can have a reserve driver who can take the place of a regular driver, when he can't make it to a race. When you want to have, or be in a team, just DM I. Malone, or Tommyyy, and one of them will add your teamname behind your discordname., For example: "I. Malone, [MRV Motorsport]".

Last, but not least:

MRV Motorsport will provide practise races as well. This is a good way to see if everything will go as you expected. These races will always be at the same track as the upcoming league event, but the racelength will be 25% of the real distance. These races have open lobby's, so it's also a way to give new drivers the chance of getting to know us.

Short Summary:

  • The events, standings, results and reports will go through WSS.
  • The communication, lessons, Voice Chats, Replays, Interviews etc. will go through our dicord.
  • All information can be found here at the website.
